Hello everyone!
As everyone is well aware we have been going through a great transition within our community. As with all changes it is important that we all take a moment to do some retrospective analysis. I have been doing this over the course of the past weeks and have come to a few conclusions.
First, I want to thank everyone who has stayed with the community during this change. I know that change is very rarely easy- your commitment to this is community humbles me.
Second, I want to congratulate my recent appointments to the Board of Directors. Fleet Admiral Chase has been placed in command of the Fifth Fleet. Admiral Beltran will be his XO and representing STO on the Board of Directors with Fleet Admiral Chase. I want to congratulate Master Starfire on the creation of his new TOR Chapter and his appointment as director of that chapter. I would like to welcome High Commander Syvar to the Board of Directors as he is now the director of our new trial chapter in EVE Online.
Finally I want to assure everyone that in my assessment I have been doing a fare amount of critical analysis on my own leadership. One central concept that has been brought to my attention on more than one occasion to both myself and other leaders in the community is a lack of communication. This, I believe, is one of the central reason the Fifth Fleet in STO began to faultier. I take full responsibility for it. I still maintain that the Fifth Fleets primary disability was the game in which it was created, however vary rarely is a castle brought down by only one bolder, no matter how big that bolder may be.
For that reason I will from this point forward (barring any crazy happenings) be publishing, both in this thread and in PM format, a bi-weekly report from the Desk of the CEO. This report will be for everyone to read and will highlight some of the issues brought to my attention and the plans we have for the future. I publish this in a thread on these boards for two reasons. First, I want everyone to have easy access and a constant archive of the reports I send out. Second, I want your feedback on the reports. One thing I know for sure is that this organization's fait rests on the shoulders of its members, and that often times the members NOT the management will be able to come up with the best solutions to any problems we might have. That being said, please comment on these posts. Brainstorm, converse and create.
That is all for now.
Thank you,
CEO; Five Dimensions Gaming
